Folded book in paulownia wood boards with applied title; slight wear to the boards and slight toning on the title label though presents as attractive. Gold deckled metallic end papers; text is uncut. Includes a printed woodcut illustration by Tomita Keisen which spans three panels of the folded paper, in addition to a two-panel printed woodcut script by Paul Claudel. Thirteen dramatic woodcut prints throughout text, depicting Saint Genevieve in robe. Collected in original blue case with applied title on the spine. 2 copies in OCLC at the time of cataloging. 

Paul Claudel (1868-1955) was a French Catholic poet, dramatist, and diplomat who, among other mis-achievements, was remembered for institutionalizing his sister and artist, Camille Claudel, for 30 years. (adapted from wikipedia) Item #2680
