Japan: [publisher not identified], [ca. 1890]. Collected in blue cloth case. 8.25" x 12.25" ; 2 volumes ; volume I: pp. [61] approx. 257 samples ; vol. II: pp. [41] approx. 237 samples. Japanese Meiji era gold brocade textile samples, almost 500 samples in all. Textile swatches measure from 1 inch to full page in size; brilliant golds and metallics throughout, silk bindings in the Japanese style. Overall condition is good; some samples exhibit wear or fray, signs of use as sample books. Item #263
