Panama Canal Zone: [unknown], 1954. 8"x10" black and white photographs (set of 12) relating to the building of the Suez Canal. Accompanying the images is an inter-office memo dated May 12, 1954 "To: Borden Mace / From: John Halas" which reads: "Re: SUEZ - the Panama section / This section will be treated the same way as the building of the Suez Canal. The camera will select a certain salient point of the planning, building, and opening of the Panama Canal. / Original engraving lithographs will be the base for the art work. While we are here it would be helpful if somebody in the organization could compile the references for this section. / J. H." Photograph dates span 16 Oct. 1945 to 14 Oct. 1952 and are labeled: 1.
