Boston, Massachusetts: John P. Jewett and Company, 1857. 5" x 7.5" pp. 159. Hardcover bound in brown cloth boards with gold stamping. Boards have a few small smudges, with light dents along edges. Spine has one small tear without loss at top edge, and a larger (3 inch) tear without loss at bottom half. "Chicago Historical Society" Ex-Libris plate, dated 1903, on front paste down. "Chicago Historical Society" die-cut stamp on title-page with inventory number written in pen on edition page. This copy is missing the Minnesota, 1857 fold-out map. Text is foxed in spots with a few dog-eared pages. A fair copy. Item #2330
