Hardcover bound with cream cloth boards; gold lettering and red deer on the cover. 6"x8.5", pp. ix, 244, [2], black and white illustrations with a full page map of Canada. This is a hardcover first edition without dust jacket. The cover boards exhibit color fading and foxing; spine is faded. Inscription by the author (dated 9/18/56) is written on the front free end paper: "To Tom and Betty [...] Regards, Sigurd F. Olson." Inside pages are relatively clean without visible markings. Previous owner has taped an article about Olson to the back free end paper. Item #199
